CONCORD OFFICE OF EMERGENCY MANAGEMENT ANNOUNCES COOLING CENTERS WILL BE OPEN~WEDNESDAY, JULY 17, THROUGH Friday, July 19
Residents Urged to Take Precautions During Heat Wave
Concord Emergency Management (CEMA) today announced that a cooling center will be open from 8:30 am -10:00 pm at the Harvey Wheeler Community Center on Wednesday, July 17, through Friday, July 19. According to the latest National Weather Service forecast, the heat index is expected to reach or exceed 95 degrees over the next several days.
As an additional option the public is encouraged to visit the Concord Public Library at 129 Main St (978) 318-3300 or the Fowler Branch at 1322 Main (978) 318-3350, where air conditioning is also available. The library’s hours are: Main Library 9am to 9pm, Monday through Thursday, 9am to 6pm, Friday and 9am to 5pm Saturday. The Fowler Library hours are: 9am to 6pm, Wednesday, 1pm to 6pm, Thursday, 9am to 5pm, Friday, Closed on Saturday’.
