Parking Management Plan - Final Draft Report Available
Concord Parking Management Plan – Final Draft Report Available

The Town’s comprehensive Parking Management Planning effort, begun in the spring 2012, is nearly complete with the final draft ready for public review and a meeting with the Board of Selectmen scheduled for Monday, April 8th. The project, which focused on a large geographic area around Concord Center and West Concord, seeks to best manage parking through cost-effective, creative solutions that will improve parking experiences for all in Concord.
After extensive public outreach through the spring 2012 (on-line surveys and public workshop, plus interviews with 25 residents and business owners), significant data collection on the use of the existing public and private parking spaces in Concord Center (inclusive of the Thoreau Depot area) and West Concord, plus two public meetings scheduled in the fall to present the data and initial ideas for managing the parking, the consultant team from Nelson-Nygaard has pulled together a comprehensive perspective of parking in Concord. The parking management strategies are multi-faceted and intended to foster economic development, livability, and improved access and circulation in Concord.

The final draft report, and supporting documentation, is now posted on the Town’s website ( under the Planning Division’s webpage and clicking on the link for the Parking Management Plan.  Any additional comments and feedback can be submitted by email to the Town’s project manager, Marcia Rasmussen at
