Millbrook Tarry Task Force Created
Millbrook Tarry Redevelopment Task Force Created

The proposed redevelopment of the Millbrook Tarry site on Lowell Road by owner Jim White presents an exciting opportunity to realize some important benefits to the Concord community that were highlighted in the 2005 Comprehensive Long Range Plan and the 2007 Village Center Study. The Planning Board has prepared a charge for the “Millbrook Tarry Redevelopment Task Force” and is asking Town residents to volunteer to serve on the Task Force for the next fourteen months by submitting a “green card” for consideration.

The Millbrook Tarry Redevelopment Task Force is intended to provide a forum for community discussion about and public input to the proposed redevelopment for the Millbrook Tarry site. Task Force members will review various project plans as they are submitted and make recommendations to the Planning Board about the proposed redevelopment in relation to the surrounding properties in commercial and municipal use, the nearby residential neighborhoods, the historic Concord Center business area, and the Mill Brook corridor. Click Here to visit the Planning Board web page for more information.

In making appointments to the Task Force, it is the goal of the Planning Board to identify qualified candidates who represent a variety of backgrounds and interests, with a majority of the individuals having a tie to Concord Center. The Task Force will consist of 9 voting members and one non-voting member (a Planning Board liaison), with preferred backgrounds in architecture, planning, historic preservation, natural resources, legal (such as real estate, land use or planning law), economic development, local business owners as well as residents-at-large. Interested residents are asked to participate in the discussions and assist with various assignments related to the mission of the Task Force.
