The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) will host a public meeting on Wednesday, March 14th from 7 pm to 9 pm at the Harvey Wheeler Center in West Concord. EPA will discuss the major activities that are going on at the superfund site at 2229 Main Street in Concord (formerly StarMet). EPA project manager Melissa Taylor, cleanup contractors from demaximus Inc., a representative from the Concord Fire Department, and members of local advocacy groups will present work done so far and answer questions about plans for removing the buildings now that they
have been abandoned. demaximus Inc. will also give an update of the progress of the Remedial Investigation and Feasibility Study (RI/FS) for the cleanup of the site.
