Good morning,
Happy September! We are calling a peak demand hour for today and tomorrow from 1PM – 4PM.
Just when we thought we were safe from another peak demand hour this summer, the weather is heating up again with a projected high temperature of 97 degrees today and 98 degrees tomorrow. The ISO is forecasting 26,500 MW s for today and 27,220 MWs for tomorrow. This means we may reach or exceed the current peak of 27,066 MWs set on July 6th.
During the peak demand hours from 1PM - 4PM, you can help to reduce the town's demand for electricity by turning up the temperature on your air conditioning a few degrees, shutting off your pool pump, planning to do laundry, running your dishwasher, etc. before or after the peak hours.
As always, thank you for your help in conserving electricity during our summer peak which has the dual benefit of reducing costs while reducing the environmental impact of peak generating units.
