If you have low pressure, no water, or have discolored water it is due to an emergency water main break located on Route 2A near the Acton town line.
The Concord Water & Sewer Division became aware of this situation around 2:30 P.M. Our crews have isolated the break and are in the process of performing an assessment and repair. Due to the location and nature of this break, the impact of this disturbance is not limited to the immediate area. Westbound traffic along Rte 2A from the Concord Rotary towards Littleton has been rerouted along Rte 2 to Weatherbee Street. Eastbound traffic is advised to seek alternative routes.
It is difficult at this time to project how long the repair will take but expect it will be at least several hours. After the repairs are completed, some of our customers may continue to experience brown water. If you are seeing brown water, we recommend running the cold water for 5 minutes to clear the line into your home.
If the water doesn’t become clear in 5 minutes, shut it off and wait one hour for the disturbance to settle or pass, and then try again.
Concord Public Works appreciates your patience.
