VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE & ABSENTEE BALLOTS
The deadline for registering to vote or for changing political party for the Tuesday, September 14, 2010 State Primary is Wednesday, August 25 at 8:00 pm. Those who have not previously registered to vote in Concord must register by August 25 in order to vote in this election. Residents may register to vote in person at the Town House or by mail. During the summer, the Town Clerk's Office is open Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Fridays from 8:30 am to Noon. We will also be open for voter registration until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 25. The Clerk’s Office will be open for other routine business on that evening as well. Call the Town Clerk’s Office at 978-318-3080 if you wish to receive a mail-in
registration form. Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by August 25.
The State Primary is open to all voters who are registered as Democrat, Republican, Libertarian or Unenrolled (formerly called “Independent”). Democrats, Republicans or Libertarians may only receive their party’s ballot. Unenrolled voters may choose any one of the three ballots. Voters who are registered in a Political Designation (Green-Rainbow) will not be choosing candidates at this State Primary, so they are not eligible to vote at this election. All registered voters will be eligible to vote at the November 2nd State Election, where there is only one ballot.
Absentee ballots are now available for the September 14 election. If you are unable to get to the polls in person on September 14th, you may request to have a ballot mailed to you or a family member. Contact us in advance to arrange for a ballot to be mailed. Absentee voting may also be done in person at the Town House during normal business hours. The deadline for absentee balloting is Noon on Monday, September 13th. Please be advised that the Town House is undergoing lobby renovations to better accommodate customers, visitors and employees with mobility issues. The ramp on the north side of the building has been removed and replaced with a new, fully accessible entrance. It is anticipated that the construction will be
completed shortly, but if you need accessibility assistance you are urged to call ahead to avoid delays in being serviced.
Those voters who have moved within Concord and have not submitted a new voter registration form are encouraged to do so by August 25. Call us at 978-318-3080 or send us an e-mail at firstname.lastname@example.org if you have any questions, or if you wish to check your voter registration.
