Absentee Ballot Information
ABSENTEE BALLOTS – STATE PRIMARY ELECTION

The State Primary will be held on Tuesday, September 16.  The Primary is the process by which the four major Parties in Massachusetts select candidates for the November Election ballot for U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative in Congress, Governor’s Councillor, State Senator, State Representative, and Register of Probate.  The Primary is open to all voters who are registered in the Democratic, Republican, Green-Rainbow or Working Families Party, or as Unenrolled (formerly called “Independent”).

Polls will be open from 7:00 am to 8:00 pm.  Absentee ballots for the State Primary are now available at the Town Clerk’s Office for residents who are unable to come to the polls in person during these hours due to 1) absence from Concord; 2) physical disability; or 3) religious belief.  The deadline for applying for an absentee ballot is noon on Monday, September 15th.  Immediate family members may apply on behalf of a registered voter, with the ballot being mailed directly to the voter.  Absentee ballot voting may either be done in person at the Town Clerk’s Office prior to the Election, or by mail.  Completed absentee ballots should be returned to the Town Clerk’s Office at the Town House by 8:00 pm on Sept. 16.  If requesting a mailed ballot, please allow ample time for mailing so that the completed ballot is received by the close of polls on Sept. 16.  If there are any questions, contact the Town Clerk’s Office via e-mail at TownClerk@concordma.org or via telephone at 978-318-3080.
