Voter Registration Deadline
VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE

The deadline for registering to vote or for changing political party in the Tuesday, September 16, 2008 State Primary is Wednesday, August 27 at 8:00 pm.  Those who have not previously registered to vote in Concord must register by August 27 in order to vote in this electionResidents may register to vote in person at the Town House or by mail. During the month of August, the Town Clerk's Office is open Mondays through Thursdays from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm, and Fridays from 8:30 am to Noon. We will also be open for voter registration until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, August 27.  The Clerk’s Office will be open for other routine business on that evening as well.  Call the Town Clerk’s Office at 978-318-3080 if you wish to receive a mail-in registration form.  Mail-in registrations must be postmarked by August 27.

The State Primary is the process by which the four major Parties in Massachusetts select candidates for the November Election ballot for U.S. Senator, U.S. Representative in Congress, Governor’s Councillor, State Senator, State Representative, and Register of Probate.  The Primary is open to all voters who are registered in the Democratic, Republican, Green-Rainbow or Working Families Party, or as Unenrolled (formerly called “Independent”).  Those registered in a Party may only receive their party’s ballot.  Unenrolled voters may choose any one of the four ballots.  Voters who are registered in a Political Designation (Libertarian, Conservative) will not be choosing candidates at this State Primary, so they are not eligible to vote at this election.  All registered voters will be eligible to vote at the November 4th State/Presidential Election.

Those who have moved within Concord and have not submitted a new voter registration form are encouraged to do so by August 27.  This is the last date we are able to update your address for the voter list for September 16.  Call us at 978-318-3080 or send us an e-mail at townclerk@concordma.org if you have any questions, or if you wish to check your voting status.
