PRESIDENTIAL PRIMARY -- VOTER REGISTRATION DEADLINE
EXTENDED HOURS JANUARY 16th
The deadline for registering to vote or for changing political party in the Tuesday, February 5, 2008 Presidential Primary is Wednesday, January 16 at 8:00 pm. Those who have not previously registered to vote in Concord must register by January 16 in order to vote in this election. Residents may register to vote in person at the Town House or by mail. The Town Clerk's Office is open Mondays through Fridays from 8:30 am to 4:30 pm, and Thursdays from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm. We will also be open for voter registration until 8:00 pm on Wednesday, January 16. The Clerk’s Office will be open for other routine business on that evening as well. Call the Town Clerk’s Office at 978-318-3080 if you wish to receive a mail-in registration form. Mail-in registrations must be
postmarked by January 16.
The Presidential Primary is open to all voters who are registered as a member of the Democratic, Republican, Green-Rainbow or Working Family Parties, or as Unenrolled (formerly called “Independent”). Only these four Parties will be choosing candidates in the February 5 Presidential Primary. If you are registered as a Libertarian or Conservative, then you are not eligible to participate in the February 5th Primary. Unenrolled voters are eligible to vote on February 5th, and may choose from among the four ballots of the recognized Massachusetts Parties. All registered voters will be eligible to vote at the November 4th State/Presidential Election.
Those who have moved within Concord and have not submitted a new voter registration form are encouraged to do so by January 16th. This is the last date we will be able to change your address for the voter list for February 5th. Please be advised that you cannot change voter status or registration by returning the census alone—if you wish to register or change your party affiliation, then you must complete a new voter registration form before January 16th. Call us at 978-318-3080 or send us an e-mail at email@example.com if you have any questions, or if you wish to check your voter registration status.
