Land Matters

The sale of 19 acres on Strawberry Hill Road was approved by Town Meeting in 2006 as a means of paying for 15 acres of land that was purchased adjacent to the Ripley School. A bid of $3.2 million was accepted for the Strawberry Hill Road property, exceeding the $2.5 million purchase price for the "Burke Land." We neared conclusion of negotiation of the Purchase & Sale Agreement as the year drew to an end. A Review Panel of residents provided detailed recommendations concerning the limitation of development of the Strawberry Hill Road land in order to fulfill the requirement set by Town Meeting and to address the concerns of neighbors in the area.
