There are some exciting projects in the works for the Beede Center. These projects will help reduce our carbon footprint, reduce energy consumption and cost, and also assist the Town in meeting the goals set by the Selectmen to reduce the Town of Concord’s energy consumption 15% by the year 2015. We are working with the Town’s Comprehensive Sustainable Energy Committee, on the following 3 projects:
• Replacement of the Dehumidification System
• Replacement of the Boilers and hot water storage capabilities
• Automatic Control System to efficiently manage the buildings mechanical systems
These projects are required by Massachusetts State Law to be put out for bid. The bid documents will be developed, the projects advertised and then awarded. Once awarded, the construction will be scheduled with careful consideration with the least amount of disruption to the membership.
The funding for these projects will be provided by both the Beede Center Capital Outlay program and the Sawyer Trust. The significant cost of these initiatives will be offset by the relatively short payback and substantial savings.
We will update you on the progress of these projects.
