The Engineering Division was successful in receiving $50,000 in FEMA Hazard Mitigation Grant funding for the replacement of the culvert based on the March 2010 disaster declaration. The design, environmental permitting and FEMA application was completed in November of 2010 and CPW completed the FEMA site walk and contract document preparation for the FEMA 404 Hazard Mitigation Grant Program (HMGP) award within the summer of 2012. The FEMA contract gives the Town two calendar years to complete the culvert replacement project. CPW
anticipates bidding the project over the winter of 2012/2013 and beginning construction by the July 2013 low flow season.
