The Concord Police Department's Community Safety Officer is assigned as the departments liaison with other town departments such as Engineering, Highway, Planning, Mass Highway as well as other state agencies.
The Community Safety Officer duties include review proposed roadway construction projects and or special events to address safety issues related to those. The safety officer may work with neighborhood groups in an attempt to address specific community needs regarding safety concerns. The safety officer is also charged with several administrative duties such as such as but not limited to:

correlating various reports utilizing the department records management system, |

supplying limited traffic data through the use of collection devices, |
|
directing special traffic enforcement programs, |
|
coordination with engineering and highway departments relative to sign postings. |

Supervision of the application of pavement markings |
