Wetlands Bylaw Regulations
 |
 |
The Natural Resources Commission administers the MA Wetlands Protection Act and Regulations to protect wetlands and the functions
and values they provide. On April 29, 2009, Town Meeting approved a local Wetlands Bylaw, which was approved by the Attorney General on September 8, 2009 and went into effect on September 10, 2009 (the date of posting). Click here for a map of the Wetlands Conservancy District and Certified Vernal Pools in Concord (may take awhile to download). This map shows APPROXIMATE wetland and CVP locations in Concord.
An amendment to the Bylaw was passed at Town Meeting 2009 requiring the local Wetland Regulations to be approved at Town Meeting. The NRC developed a Wetlands Regulation Working Group in fall 2009 to draft Wetland Regulations, which were approved at 2010 Town Meeting. Click here to view the Wetlands Bylaw Regulations.
If you are considering any activity within 100 feet of a pond, stream, or wetland, within the floodplain, and/or within 200 feet of a perennial (continuously flowing) stream, you may need to file for approval in accordance with the state Wetlands Protection Act and the Concord Wetlands Bylaw. Please contact the Division of Natural Resources if you have questions BEFORE you begin.
