The 2014 Concord Clean-Up will be held from Saturday, March 29 through Sunday, April 6th, with the major effort on Saturday, April 5th to spruce up the Town in advance of Patriots' Day, which is observed on April 21st.
As in past year, the focus will be to remove bottles, cans, papers and other litter along the roads and public lands, incljuding parks and playgrounds, conservation lands, well sites, parking lots, schoolyards, and other areas. In an effort to reduce waste generated from this effort, this year we are introducing recycling as an added benefit.
Yellow bags for miscellaneous litter and clear bags for recyclables (bottles and cans only--no paper) will be distributed from the town office of the Division of Natural Resources at 141 Keyes Road between 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. Full bags will be left along the roadside and at intersections, if possible, for Public Works crews to collect the following week.
Individuals, families, neighborhood gropus, clubs and organizations should contact the Division of Natural Resources for route assignments and bags. Please drop by the office to sign up and note your location on a map so that as many areas as possible in town are covered, and to reduce duplicate efforts.
