Gala afternoons with talented entertainers followed by coffee, tea and a delicious buffet of sweets provide fund and stimulation for everyone.
Seniors enjoy the entertainment at a recent luncheon.
In addition to the above, trips are planned for destinations both near and far. The COA van is used for the "Lunch Bunch" to travel to a different restaurant each month; to special exhibitions at various museums such as the Museum of Fine Arts and the Institute of Contemporary Art and other special local events throughout the year.
Lunch Bunch at local restaurant
Longer trips are booked with tour companies using a large coach bus to travel to Vermont (Green Mountain train ride), Rhode Island (Johnson and Wales Inn) and New Hampshire (Wright Museum) just to name a few.
Local students held a car wash to benefit to Concord Friends of the Aging. Even the Fire Department got in the act.
The volunteers at our gift shop, Harvey's Treasure Chest held a Mother's Day sale for the students in The Carousel Preschool. The kids enjoyed buying specials gifts for their Moms. Everything at the sale was $1 and was wrapped for each child. This is a yearly event.
Email Directory - Do you have an email address that you check regularly? Would you like to receive updates or the newsletter from the COA via email? Give us your address. We will create a directory for use only within the COA, as an additional means of contacting people when there is a change to a scheduled program. This is not meant to replace phone calling, but to augment it. Call the COA or email it to coa_volunteer@concordma.gov.
