Transportation
Individuals riding the COA van must be able to get on and off the van independently or must bring an escort to assist them.  Alert the office if you will have an escort.

The COA van runs Monday through Friday, except for holidays.  The first pickup of the day is 8:40 AM and the final pickup is at 4.00 PM.  Later afternoon appointments are not advisable.

The donation for a van ride, within the town limits, is $2 round trip.  There are several special shopping trips that go out of town such as Burlington Mall, and supermarkets in Acton.  The donation is higher on those occasions.  Consult the COA news letter, the Senior Spirit, for shopping schedules.

Appointments are made on a first come, first serve basis.  We recommend that you make appointments as early as possible (they can be booked weeks ahead) and no later than 24 hours before the appointment.

Out of Town Appointments

On Tuesdays the medical van will transport you to a doctor's appointment in Acton.  You must call at least a week in advance to arrange for van service.  It is best to call as soon as your appointment is scheduled so insure the van is available.

Wheelchair Van

The COA also has a wheel chair accessible van.  If an individual cannot propel their own chair to and from the van, they must have an escort to assist them. This is a curb to curb service.   We ask that appointments for the wheel chair van be made a week or two in advance.
