Missed Pick up
There are a number of reasons materials may not be picked up. If it appears materials were missed due to driver error please call Concord Public Works at 318-3240 to arrange for collection.

Trash
Over weight - Barrels should weigh no more than 40 pounds.
Over size - Barrels must be 34 gallons or smaller
Over the top - Contents should not extend more then 3" above the rim of the barrel
Construction debris - the program does not collect construction debris. Contact a private hauler for a special pick-up.
Late set out - Materials must be at curb by 7:00 to guarantee collection. Routes occasionally change unexpectedly, due to roadwork, illness, etc. To guarantee materials will not be missed materials must be at curbside by 7:00.
Loose Styrofoam - Styrofoam packaging peanuts must be in securely tied bags to prevent them from blowing around neighborhoods when collected. Containers with loose packaging peanuts will not be collected.
No disposal tag or barrel sticker - Trash containers with no disposal tag or barrel sticker will not be collected.
Out of date barrel sticker - Barrel stickers must be for the current collection period
Difficult to see - Were there bushes or other obstacles that may have made it difficult for the driver to see your containers?

Recyclable Materials
Oversized cardboard - The recycling truck can only collect cardboard smaller than 3' x 3' x 15". We know this is an inconvenience. Cardboard can be dropped off in the cardboard recycling dumpsters at the Public Works parking lot, 133 Keyes Road, any time, or at the Composting Site on Saturdays, April - November.
Contamination - Mixed paper must be placed in a separate recycling bin from containers.
Pizza boxes - Most pizza boxes have grease, cheese, tomato, or pizza still inside them and will not be collected. If you have a truly clean pizza box you may recycle it by turning it inside out, folding it up, and placing it with your regular mixed paper.
Flower pots - Flower pots, even those marked with a recycling triangle, are not collected in our program.
Styrofoam - Styrofoam trays, cups, block, and packaging peanuts are not collected in our program. Peanuts may be taking to a packaging store, such as Mail Boxes, Etc. for reuse, Styrofoam block may be brought to our drop-off day for recycling.
