COLLECTION PROGRAMS

Information on Concord's curbside recycling and trash collection program, user fees, materials collected, holiday schedule, etc.

Concord Public Works provides collection services for interested apartment and condominium complexes.

Concord sponsors a biweekly paper recycling program for Concord businesses and a twice a year business recycling event for fluorescent bulbs and electronics.  Some businesses are also eligible to participate in Concord's curbside collection program.

The Composting Site is open Saturdays from 9:00 - 3:00, April through November.  Additional information on material collected, fees for brush, etc. is found in this section.

Latex paint is not a hazardous product.  Dry out and dispose of at curbside.  All other paint and related products are accepted at the paint shed for proper disposal.

Concord provides residents with a variety of ways to dispose of hazardous waste.

Twice a year Concord Public Works and REUSIT sponsor reuse and recycling days to help residents manage a variety of different materials. Oversized waste for disposal as trash is also collected at these events.

Read about Concords plans to implement a safe needle collection program from residents and pets with medical conditions that require home injections.

Expired or unwanted prescription and over-the-counter medications from households should never be disposed of by flushing them down the toilet or a drain.  Read about how to safely dispose of unwanted medications.

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION

Concord encourages residents to compost leaves and yard waste in their own back yard. A few simple steps will help turn a pile of leaves in to a rich soil amendment for your garden or lawn in less than a year.

In addition to Concord’s curbside collection program there are private haulers that also provide curbside and back door collection services. Private haulers also provide bulk item pickup and one time cleanouts.

There are a variety of reuse opportunities available for Concord residents.

In recent years a number of on-line opportunities have been created that help people give away items they no longer want, and help people find used items that someone else no longer needs.  Look here for information on on-line reuse opportunities for Concord residents.
