The Demolition Delay Bylaw
The Concord Historical Commission has responsibility for implementing Concord's Demolition Delay Bylaw. This was adopted by Town Meeting in 1999. Fifty-nine properties located outside of Concord's local historic districts were listed as subject to the bylaw. For these properties, owners must wait up to six months before implementing any proposed demolition to give the Historical Commission and others time to try to save the structure or at least to document its history. For a list of properties subject to this bylaw, go to either of our libraries or to Planning and Land Management at 141 Keyes Road (978) 318-3290. See a copy of this bylaw and all the structures protected by it here.
